OBITUARIES
Myrtle Agnes Fitzgerald
June 4, 1920, to March 17, 1999Myrtle Agnes Fitzgerald, 78, of Story City and formerly of Nevada, died of complications of Alzheimer's Disease on Wednesday, March 17, at Bethany Manor in Story City here she had been a resident since Feb. 10, 1993.
she was born June 4, 1930, in Gilbert to Leo and Sophia (Elsner) Wirth. She was a graduate of Gilbert High School. She married James Donald Fitzgerald on Sept. 20, 1943, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilbert. She was a long-time resident of Story County. She retired in 1985 as a deputy Clerk of Court for the Story County Courthouse. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada. She enjoyed her family and needlework.
Survivors include her husband Donald of Nevada; four daughters, Sandra Dahlgren of Ames, Carol Casebolt of Muscatine, Diane Green of Fort Madison and Audrey Thompson of Round Rock, Texas; a son, Marion Fitzgerald of Newton, nine grandchildren; two brothers, Eldon Wirth of Ettrick, Wis., and Frederick Wirth of Story City; two sisters, Alma Lynch of Des Moines and Irene Faust of St. Paul, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vincent Wirth; and two sisters, Mildred Lindeman and Mary Pantenburg.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada with Father John Herzog officiating. Burial followed in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to Bethany Manor or the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled arrangements.
