Final Rites Held Here Sunday For Mrs. Harry Laugh [should be Lough]

Funeral rites for Mrs. Harry Lough, 52, who passed away at her home on Eighth street Thursday evening, were held Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Nevada Methodist church, following brief prayer service at the home.

The services were in charge of her pastor Rev. Reynolds C. Murdock and were attended by a large group of relatives and friends.

There were two songs, "In the Garden" and "Good Nigh and Good Morning" by Mrs. Homer Jacobs, an old friend, now of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Betty Case of Nevada, with Mrs. Irene Dobson at the organ.

The beautiful floral offerings were cared for by ladies of the church and the pallbearers were Homer Jacobs of Washington, D. C., H. M. Vinsel, Norman Dobson, Clorence Bivens, Elmer Wendell and H. G. Kruwell.

The minister, having been closely associated with Mrs. Lough through her work with the choir and other activities of the church, spoke very highly of the deceased and her work in the church.

Interment was in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her mother, who died in 1934.

"Inez Belle Robertson, youngest daughter of Rev. James W. and Amanda I. Robertson, was born January 24, 1890, at Streator, Ill. Being reared in the home of a minister, she moved around, spending her childhood in Illinois, Missouri and Iowa. Early in life she united with the United Brethren in Christ Church of which her father was a minister.

"On June 26, 1917, she was united in marriage to Harry Lough of Nevada. To this union two children were born, Barbara Peal and Harry Frederick. During these years in this community she with her family became a vital part of the church life.

"Mrs. Lough united with the Methodist church in Nevada and as long as she was able worked in every department of the organization. She was especially interested in the choir and the youth department. Because of failing health she had to drop out of the different organizations one by one, but she remained active in the choir and with the young people until a year or so ago. She was greatly missed as she had to give up her active life.

"Mrs. Lough kept failing in health until she was finally confined to her bed most of the time and then all of the time. She slipped away about 10 o'clock last Thursday night, September 24, 1942, at her home of Eighth street in Nevada. A full sister, Rachael Pearl, preceded her in death in December, 1917, her father in December 1915 and her mother in December 1934, a half-brother, James Robertson, January 1937.

She leaves to mourn her passing the husband, Harry Lough and daughter, Barbara Pearl of Nevada; a son, Private Harry Frederick, Bloomington, Ill., U. S. army; another son, Rev. Kenneth Rapp of Nevada; one granddaughter, Beth Mary Rapp; one half sister Anna Myers of Kackley, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends.
