Final Rites Held Saturday Afternoon For James C. Huff

Funeral services for James C. Huff, 51, who died at his home south of Shipley Wednesday were held at the Cambridge U. B. church Saturday afternoon with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill of Nevada in charge.

The singing was by a mixed quartette consisting of Mrs. Espe, Alma Brekke, Dr. Houser and C. M. Webb. Mrs. Webb was at the piano. Burial was in the Cambridge cemetery.

The life sketch of the deceased, as read by minister in charge, follows:

James Christian Huff, eldest son of George and Nancy Huff, was born near Elwell in Story county, Iowa Sept. 7, 1884, and departed this life at his home one mile south of Shipley, Story county, Sept. 2, 1936 at the age of 51 years, 11 months and 26 days.

He lived and grew to manhood in the vicinity of Elwell and was united in marriage to Alice Hanks of Cambridge vicinity, Nov. 30, 1912 and have made their home in this vicinity until his death. To this union was born one son, Doyle who is now married and lives in the home with his parents.

Those that are left to mourn their loss are the wife and son, Doyle and daughter-in-law, Jesse, his aged mother, Mrs. Nancy Stemler of Nevada, one brother, Wessy Huff of North Grant township and two sisters, Mrs. Courtney Hemstock of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. Mary Barker of near Nevada, Iowa and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. Huff was a kind husband, a loving father and a good neighbor.
