Funeral Services Held Today for Mrs. Fred Allie

Funeral services were held at the Nevada Evenagelical church here at 1:30 p. m. today for Mrs. Fred Allie, 46, Nevada township farm woman who died Saturday afternoon. After the service at the church, which was in charge of Rev. J. D. Klooz, the funeral party left for Jewell, Hamilton county, where the body will be placed by the side of a son in the family lot.

A quartette consisting of Floyd Alderman, Basil Grimes, Hazel Reitz and Rosalyn Thompson, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Basil Grimes, sang three songs chosen by the departed "In the City Four Square," "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

A life sketch of the deceased, as prepared by the pastor, follows:

Mrs. Grace Odella Allie, wife of Fred Allie, was born Jan. 11, 1892 in Boone county, west of Story City, and passed away in her home on a farm three miles southeast of Nevada, after a lingering illness of some months on Jan. 22, 1938 at the age of 46 years and 11 days.

She was the daughter of John and Mary Schlegal. She attended school and grew to womanhood in the neighborhood where her parents lived. On March 28, 1911 she was united in marriage with Fred Allie by the Rev. L. J. U. Smay then pastor of the Evangelical church at Story City. This union was blessed with five children, all living but one, a son, who was twin by the name of Erving, who passed away some years ago.

The Allie family lived near Napier in Boone county until about 8 years ago, when they moved to near Nevada where they have since resided. Mrs. Allie, I am told, was baptized by an Evangelical minister and later became a member of the Evangelical church confessing her Lord as her Saviour and Redeemer.

Mrs. Allie was a kind-hearted neighbor, a faithful wife and loving mother especially attached to her grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She leaves to mourn her sorrowing husband, her sons Orland and Arnold of Nevada, her daughter Mrs. Edgar Miller of Stanhope and son Everal at home and three grandchildren Darla Grace, Melvin and Lois Allie, also two brothers and two sisters Mrs. H. Hubner, Mrs. Hugh Sinn and Howard Schlegel of Boone and Leonard Schlegel of Ellsworth, besides a number of nephews and nieces and large circle of friends. Her parents predeceased her.
