Obituary of Mrs. Hankins.

Phoebe Catherine Wheatley was born in Indiana Jan. 20, 1847 died at Colo, Oct. 1, 1924 at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 11 days. She was married to John H. McCain Oct. 7, 1877 who died June 4, 1903. To this union was born 3 children of whom two are living and one died in infancy. She lived a widow until Sept. 19, 1913 when she was married to Jerry H. Hankins. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her loss, a son Allen McCain of Salem, Oregon, a daughter, Grace Kline of Lake Park, Iowa, five grandchildren, Hugh McCain, Pauline McCain, Chester McCain, Mrs. Edna Troutner, Ethel Kline and two great grandchildren, Dorothy and Ronald Troutner. One sister Laura Wheatley and one brother, Luka Wheatley of Oklahoma City. She came to Story county when small child, was converted when quite young and lived a devoted christian life.

Her children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also he praiseth her.-- Prov. 31:28.

The funeral services were held at the Evangelical church by her pastor Rev. M. C. Miller Friday afternoon at 2 p. m. Interment was in the Zearing cemetery beside a son.
