ZEARING MAN IS CALLED BY DEATH
FUNERAL OF J. B. LANE WILL BE HELD FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT 2:00 P. M.

Zearing, July 7--J. B. Lane, 62, died at his home in Zearing Wednesday morning at 8:45, from complications arising from an illness covering a period of several months.The funeral will be held at the Church of Christ in Zearing, Friday afternoon at 2:00, in charge of Rev. C. A. Claypool. Interment will be in the Zearing cemetery.
Mr. Lane was born July 26, 1870, at Otsego, Ohio, a son of Peter B. and Mary Ellen Lane. He grew to manhood in that community and there united with the Baptist church.
He came out to Iowa in 1895, locating first at Oskaloosa. He lived there for a year after which he came to Zearing and this had been his home since. He lived first with Mr. and Mrs. John S. Holcomb. During his residence here he ha been engaged in farming and the real estate business.
In 1900 he was unitd in marriage the Buryle Reed of Zearing. One son, Bond Lane, now of Waterloo, was born to this union.
The passing of Mr. Lane marks the first death in a family of eleven children. The brothers are Alonzo, George, Oran and Samuel, all of Otsego, Ohio; Charles of Akron, Ohio; John of Vincennes; and Peter of Moline, Ill. The sisters are Mrs. Leota Nelson and Mrs. Anna Bradford, bot of Otsego, and Mrs. Kittie McLaughlin of Marietta, Ohio.
These he leaves, together with his wife, the one son and the grandson Gordon Lane.
