Former McCallsburg Pastor's Wife Dead

McCallsburg, Dec. 19--Word had been received here by friends of the Rev. C. A. Montanus family of the death of Mrs. Montanus. Rev. Montanus was at one time pastor of the Presbyterian church here and the following brief obituary was received: Mrs. C. A. Montanus, wife of Rev. C. A. Montanus, died Sunday, Dec. 6 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Schobert in Victor. Death came as a result of a six months illness caused by a heart ailment aggravated by pneumonia. Born in 1873 of German parents in Barton, Wis., and was musically talented and being an accomplished organist and violinist. In 1897 she married Mr. Montanus who survives as do their three children, Mrs. Harold Hammond of Wheaton, Ill., the Rev. Hugo Monatanus of Elizabeth, Ill., an Mrs. W. H. Schobert of Victor. After funeral services at the Baptist parsonage in Victor, Monday morning in charge of the Rev. Frank Ward of the Sunshine Mission in Cedar Rapids, the body was taken to Wheaton, Ill., for burial Monday.
