Funeral Services for Former Roland Man

Special to the Journal
Roland, Jan. 3--Funeral services for E. A. Cole, of Kenosha, Wis., former Roland business man, was held in Roland Saturday, a prayer service being held at the I. M. Cole home, before the services at the church at two o'clock. The services were in charge of Rev. Olaf Holen. Special music consisted of two numbers, sung by Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Boyd. The pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased, Argyll, Otis, Noeval, Herbert, Arnold and Amos Cole. He was buried at the Roland cemetery beside his wife.

Mr. Cole was the son of the pioneer couple, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Cole, and was born at Rolad over 63 years ago. He was united in marriage in 1901 to Grace Boston, to which union nine children were born, six of whom survive. They are Mrs. Avis Helms, Miss Geneva Cole of Winnetka, Ill., Mrs. Mildred Fatland, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Ecith Martin, Earl and Floyd Cole of Waukesha, Wis.

After disposing of his business interests, he engaged in farming in the vicinity north and east of Roland, where he lived until about ten years ago when he moved to Kenosha, Wis., where he has since resided.

He passed away suddenly last Monday, while riding in a car with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Martin, when they were hit by another car, the shock of the accident having caused a sudden heart attack. He died before they could reach a hospital.

Hoversten of Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Anderson and Joseph Grove, Lars Alvestad and Roy Alvestad of Jewell, Mrs. John Boston and Mrs. Glen Boston of McCallsburg, Mr. and Mrs. G. M.
