Funeral Services Held Sunday for Mrs. Minnie Ryerson

Special to the Journal:
Huxley, Feb. 8--Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Ryerson were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bethany church in Kelley following a prayer service at the home. The services were in charge of her pastor Rev. E. R. Rorem.

There was a large audience, the church and basement being filled when relatives and numerous friends came from far and near to pay their final tribute of respect to the memory of one who had been released after such a long period of affliction. The floral tributes were many gifts to the missions in her memory. The Ladies Aid society of which she had been such a faithful and generous member also gave a gift in her memory.

Miss Mae Ford of Ames sang a solo, "Come Ye Disconsolate", after which Rev. Rorem read the 23rd Psalm. Mrs. L. S. Kloster of Des Moines sang, "Wings of Snow." Rev. Rorem then delivered the sermon and based his text on part of the 8th verse in the first chapter of Acts: "And ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in Judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost parts of the earth." Although she was confined to her home for many years, she took an active interest in church, school and state and by exercising her strong mentality, she was able to forget her infirmities and often brought encouragement to the many visitors who came to comfort her. She endured her suffering with marvelous patience and was always thankful to the dear ones who cared for her so tenderly. She expressed her faith and received courage from day to day, knowing that she had a definite place to fill. After the sermon Mrs. Kloster sang another solo, "In the Garden."

The pallbearers were Gilbert Balton of Des Moines, Milford Ryan of Slater, R. B. Helland, Leslie Ryerson, Palmer Severeid and Milford Thompson.

The remains were interred in the family lot in the Bethany cemetery.
