THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 16, 1922, page 1. "OBITUARY - William Tecumseh Elliott, son of Robert and Tabitha Elliott, was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, July 27, 1857, and died at his home in Maxwell, Iowa, March 6, 1922, aged 34 years, 7 months and 9 days. He moved to Carmargo, Ill., with his parents when he was a boy of five. Was united in marriage with Miss Emma Smith July the 18th, 1894. To this union was born one son Raymond Benton. He came to Iowa with his family in 1909 and moved on a farm near Maxwell, later going to the Ozark mountains in Missouri for his health. Came back to Iowa and went into business at Cambridge in 1914, residing there a little over a year, then coming to Maxwell, entering into business and has made his home here since. Mr. Elliott was a member of the Baptist church, having united with the Baptist people while in Ironton, Mo. He leaves to mourn his going, the wife, one son Raymond, one grandchild, two brothers, Chas. H. Elliott of Leachville, Ark., T. B. Elliott of Maxwell, two nieces, besides a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. last Thursday afternoon from the Presbyterian church, Rev. B. A. Gann, officiating. Card of Thanks. We wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the many friends who were so kind and thoughtful of us during our recent bereavement. Mrs. W. T. Elliott, Ray Elliott and family."
