THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 8, 1961, page 1, column 1. "H. K. DEVILBISS DIES- H. E. DeVilbiss, 71, longtime resident of the Maxwell area, died at his home in Marshalltown, Saturday afternoon. DeVilbiss was born November 17, 1889 at Yale, Iowa. He received his education and grew to manhood in the Yale-Bagley area. He was married to Rebecca Enfield. The couple farmed south of Maxwell for 46 years until they retired and moved to Marshalltown last February. DeVilbiss was a member of the Maxwell Brethren Church. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Lyle Calkins of Marshalltown; two sons, Willis of LaMesa, Calif., and Emmert of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters, including Mrs. Bessie Enfield of Maxwell. Services will be held at the Loring E. E. B. Church at 2 p.m., Thursday (?), in charge of the Rev. James Delahook from Marshalltown. Burial will follow in the Brethren Cemetery southeast of Maxwell. The Estel-Perria Funeral home in Marshalltown is in charge of the arrangements."
