Funeral Services For James Hunter Sr. In Mystic Sunday

Funeral services for James Hunter, Sr., 73, prominent resident of Mystic, Iowa, and father of Dr. James Hunter former Nevada dentist, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Mystic Methodist church. The Rev. M. R. Gonzales, pastor was in charge of the services. The committal was in Highland cemetery.

Mr. Hunter had been president of the Industrial Bank of Mystic and president of the Mutual Telephone company of that city. For many years he was foreman for the Lee Brothers, the Dargavel and Oliver co., and the Old Sterling mine.

Mr. Hunter was born in Wishaw, Scotland and came to this country in 1881 when but nine years oaf age. He had been a resident of the Mystic community for about 60 years.

On August 24, 1894 he was united in marriage to Mary Malinda Hobson at Centerville and their golden wedding was celebrated at Clear Lake in the cottage "Casa Laga" of their son Dr. James Hunter of Mason City.

Surviving are the wife, the son Paul of Chicago, Ill.; the son Dr. James Hunter of Mason City and the daughters, Margaret Buchner of Hayward, Calif., and Ruth Smith of Des Moines.

The deceased had been a frequent visitor in Nevada during the residence here of his son Dr. James Hunter. Du Ree Hunter of Mason City, a granddaughter of the deceased is also a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Walker of this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Walker were among those in attendance at the last rites.
