Last Rites for Everett W. Godby Thursday Afternoon

Funeral services for Everett Wesley Godby, 37, who passed away April 16, were largely attended at the Iowa Center church Thursday afternoon. Rev. C. E. Lookingbill of Nevada was in charge of the last rites.

The church was filled to over capacity and the floral pieces were many and beautiful. Committal was in the Iowa Center cemetery.

The following obituary was read by the officiating minister.

Everett Wesley Godby, son of William and Maude Godby, was born on January 13, 1908 at Iowa Center and passed away on April 16, 1945 at the age of 37 years, 3 months and 3 days.

His entire life was spent in Iowa Center and surrounding community. On March 13, 1919 Everett was united in marriage to Hazel Banks also of Iowa Center. To this union one child was born on August 9, 1935.

Everett leaves to mourn his wife and daughter, father William Godby of Iowa Center, sister Merle Barker of Des Moines, brother Clarence Godby of Iowa Center, grandfather David Brown of Iowa Center and a host of relatives and friends.
