Funeral Services at Slater Friday for Thomas A. Weeks

Slater, April 12--Funeral services for Thomas A. Weeks were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Rev. P. E. Onstad had charge of the services.

The beautiful floral offerings were arranged by Mrs. O. M. Brown and Mrs. Kermit Erickson.

Gift of money to the missions were given by relatives and friends. The audience sang "My Faith Look Up to Thee." A duet, "The Old Rugged Cross," was sung by Mrs. Marvin Thompson of Williams and Mrs. Roland Swanson. Rev. Onstad sang a solo, "Asleep In Jesus, Blessed Sleep."

The pall bearers were Walter Johnson, Howard Johnson and Ray Johnson of Madrid, Howard Weeks, Thomas Weeks and Randall Reinertson.

Burial was made in the Fjeldberg cemetery near Huxley.

Thomas A. Weeks was born on a farm southeast of Slater, February 17, 1879, and died April 4th, 1945. His parents were Anfin and Sara Weeks.*

He grew to manhood in this community. He was married to Minnie Abild of Vermillion, South Dakota, on March 17th, 1906. To this union were born two sons, Lowell, who in in the armed forces in Europe, and Irving of San Francisco, California.

He is survived by his wife and two sons and a brother, Henry Weeks of Rapid City, South Dakota, and a host of relatives and friends.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Anfin and Sara Weeks" were originally known as Anfinn Viarson Vik and Siri Olsdatter Berhaug. Sara's maiden name has also been noted as Sarah Berhow.
