Funeral Rites For Fred Martin Wednesday Afternoon

Funeral service for Fred Martin, 50, who passed away at the hospital in Mount Pleasant, Sunday, August 26, was held from the Morfoot Funeral Home, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. James D. Ransom of Central Presbyterian church officiating.

Mrs. F. W. Cowgill was at the organ playing a group of appropriate hymns. The many floral offerings were in change of Mrs. Goldmer Hankins and Mrs. Virginia Brouhard.

The pall bearers were from the Iowa Electric Light and Power company force and included Frank Purk, Verle Sloan, Roy Bonine, and Howard Mills.

Committal was in the Nevada cemetery.

The following obituary was read at the funeral service:

"Fred Martin was born in Omaha, Nebraska, January 7, 1895, and passed away August 26, 1945. In his early childhood, his parents move with their family to Des Moines, and that was Fred's home until he came to Nevada to work in 1929.

"On July 27, 1929, he was united in marriage to Margaret Chitty. To this union were born three children: Barbara, Louis and Maxine.

"M. Martin is survived by his wife, the three children, his father, Fred Martin, Sr., of Des Moines, and two brothers, George and Emmet Martin of Des Moines."

Among the relatives from out of town were the father, and the brothers and their wives from Des Moines.
