THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 10, 1901, page 1, column 5. "OBITUARY - CRAIG. - Anna M. Carter was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, July 15, 1865. She was married to A. S. Craig, June 29, 1882. To this union six children were born, five of whom survive the mother. Mrs. Craig was summoned to Sac City, Iowa, two weeks ago to attend the funeral of her mother, on returning she was immediately taken sick and after eight days of intense suffering she died, Jan. 3, 1901. Mrs. Craig was converted and joined the Methodist church in Slater, Iowa, February, 1895. The funeral services were held in the church in Maxwell Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. The house was filled with sympathizing friends. The Court of Honor, of which she was a member, attended in a body and participated in the burial service at the cemetery. The hymns sung were her expressed favorites which indicate the trend of her though; they were, "When I Get to the End of the Way," "Jesus Saviour** Pilot Me" and "My Jesus I Love Thee." Her three little girls were taken by relatives to make their home for a time near Sac City. The husband and son remain in Maxwell." **Editorial note - spelling used is from the original newspaper article.
