THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, December 9, 1965, page 1, column 3. "SHERMAN BULLOCK DIES - Sherman Bullock, 39, Oelwein, formerly a resident of the Maxwell area, died at his home of a heart attack Saturday afternoon, December 4th. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 7, at 2 p. m. at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell, with Rev. Ronald Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Iowa Center Cemetery. Survivors include his widow Harriett, (the former Harriett Severson of Nevada), one son, Sherman Jr., three daughters, Jarverna, Karen and Gay, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Laura Bullock of Nevada; two sisters, Mrs. Eileen Myers of Monroe, Mrs. Anabelle Springer, Yrekea, Calif.; three brothers, Allen of Algona, Frank of Englewood, Calif., and Paul of Marshalltown. Bullock was a baker by trade and moved from Nevada to Oelwein about 1 1/2 years ago. A memorial fund has been established.
