THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 2, 1901, page 10, column 1. "DIED - Mrs. Susan C. Brown was born October 13, 1823 and died December 26, 1901, aged 78 years, 3 months and 13 days. She was married to David Brown in the year 1845, living most of their married life in Ohio. In 1884 they moved to Iowa locating in Iowa Center, where they spent the remaining days of their life. She made her home with David Brown where she died. To them was born six boys and one girl. Her husband and four children preceded her to the spirit world. The funeral services were conducted at the Iowa Center Church, December 28, at 2 p. m., by V. Urbino, the pastor, and the remains were laid away in the Iowa Center Cemetery."
