THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, August 1, 1901, page 5, column 4. "W. J. Bridgeman, a young man twenty-eight years of age, was dragged to death by a runaway team hitched to a hay rake north of Ames, last week. He had come out from Chicago with his wife and two little children to spend a vacation with relatives. Interment was made in Nevada cemetery."
