THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 26, 1899, page 5. "The spirit of little Mildred, the nine months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bricker, of Nevada, returned to the God who gave it last Friday, leaving the mother desolate and the grandparents and numerous relatives with sorrowing hearts. The funeral services were held Sunday at the home of the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. McLain, conducted by Rev. Shrader and Innis. One of the saddest features of this sad event is that the father is in Alaska and no word can reach him until June. Many sympathizing relatives and friends attended the last sad rites, among them Mr. and Mrs. Clark McLain, of this place, a brother of Mrs. Bricker."
