Mrs. Mary Binder* Laid to Rest In Colo Cemetery

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Calvary Evangelical for Mrs. Mary A. Binder of Reasnor, Iowa. The services were in charge of the pastor, Rev. R. L. Russell. Music was furnished by a male quartette, Charles Lehman, John Lounsberry, Mark Wilson and Paul Henry who used "In the Garden", "Feed My Sheep" and "Beautiful Isle", as their numbers. Mrs. Merle Dickinson accompanied at the piano.

Casket-bearers who were all nephews of the deceased were John Allen, Floyd Bales, Lester Shickell, Arthur Clatt, Milo Thornton and Harley Munn.

Burial was in the Colo cemetery.

Following is the obituary read by Rev. Russell, after the reading of the 91st Psalm.

"Mary A. Binder was born on a farm north east of Colo on Dec. 12, 1877 and passed away at her home at Reasnor, Oct. 29, 1946 at the age of 69 years and ten months. On Feb. 6, 1901 she was united in marriage to William H. Morgan and lived in Colo for a few years and then moved to their farm near Scranton, Ia., living on this farm for 35 years. In the year of 1943 she and her husband moved to their until last June and then moved to Reasnor.

"To this union was born three children, two boys and one girl. Clarence W. of Boone, Lawrence M. of Grand Junction and Daisy Bell Terpstra of Reasnor, Ia.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, three children, eight grand children, one brother, Frank Binder of Bareboo, Wisc., a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Her mother, father, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

"She was converted at an early age and became a member of the Methodist church in Colo, on leaving Colo she transferred her membership to the Friends church near Scranton. She was a good christian and a considerate helper to the less fortunate, a good wife and mother and will be so greatly missed.

"She is not dead just passed to her reward and is now safe in the fold of her dear Lord and Savior".

Those from a distance who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Milo Thornton of Des Moines, Mrs. Luther Porter of Winnebago, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Harley Munn of Kenawa, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Munn of Kenawa, Mrs. Anna Allen, Mrs. Ida Talbott, Mr. and Mrs. John Allen and Mrs. Mary Lundy, Mr. and Mrs. Nate Norton of Zearing, Mrs. Rosalind Upchurch, Mrs. Mary Benfer of Des Mones, Mr. and Mrs. Will Thompson and daughter and Mrs. Eva Thomas of Nevada and many friends from Reasnor.
