Colo Man Buried Sunday Afternoon

Special to the Journal.
Colo--Funeral services for the late Edwin Dannenberger, who died at his home in Colo, May 23, were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, with his pastor, Rev. Harold Stark in charge. Interment was in the Colo cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Danskin sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "No Disappointment in Heaven" and "The Old Rugged Cross." She was accompanied by Mrs. S. B. Goodenow.

The pallbearers were George Buffington, William Buttry, Pat Peakin, John Bloomberg, G. V. Granger and A. O. McCoy.

Edwin, son of Henry and Mary Dannenberger, was born in Lehigh county, Pa., March 3, 1872 and died at his home in Colo, May 23, 1929 aged 57 years 2 months and 20 days.

In July, 1928, he suffered an attack of the flu from which he never fully recovered, though all was done for him which could be done. Death finally came to his relief as a result of a stroke of paralysis.

When a small boy he came with his parents to Hinckley, Ill., where he made his home until after his marriage.

On Nov. 1, 1895, he was united in marriage with Mary Dellenback, at Hinckley, Ill. Six children came to bless this unioin. Mrs. Erma Hemping of Colo, Iowa; Eddie of Colo; Harry, Merton and Dorothy Mae all of whom passed away in infancy; and Daisy who is at home with her mother. The other relatives left to mourn his passing are three grandchildren, a sister Mrs. Frank Young and two sons Robert and William all of South Bend, Ind., a number of cousins and more distant relatives. He was a kind husband and a loving father, always thinking of the welfare and comfort of his family.

In 1904 the family moved from Hinckley, Ill. to the Binder farm northeast of Colo. Since coming to Iowa he has resided on different farms near Colo, moving into Colo the first of last March.

At the age of 15 he as confirmed in the faith of the German Lutheran church uniting with the Methodist Episcopal church of Colo about 15 years ago. He always had a great love for his God and his church.
