The following obituary was prepared and read by the officiating minister:

"Eugene M. Ogden, son of Frank L. and Sarah E. Ogden, was born in Nevada, Iowa May 30, 1871 and passed away at his home in Nevada at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 1947, being 75 years, 10 months, 16 days old. Mr. Ogden was sick only a short time, having taken ill the latter part of the week.

He was married on June 1, 1907 at State Center, Iowa to Miss Mary Moritz, of Nevada. To this union one son, Robert F. Ogden, was born. Mr. Eugene Ogden was also the only child in his family.

At an early age Mr. Ogden united with the Baptist church which worshipped in the church building on the Lincoln Way, and is not the property of the Latter-Day Saints.

Mr. Ogden lived his entire life in this community. About 40 years of his life time, he spent in farming, living a short distance west of Nevada.

Aside from the impairment of his eyesight for the past 15 years, Mr. Ogden was in comparatively good health, and enjoyed life to the fullest extent. He was a good man with many qualities of sterling worth. He was kind, honest, industrious, courteous and public minded.

He leaves to mourn him in his departure, his faithful companion, Mrs. Mary Ogden, his one son, Robert who was loyal and devoted and one appreciative daughter-in-law. Doris Ogden, and their little daughter, Delores Mae, his only grandchild.

Besides these close relatives, Mr. Ogden leaves many life time friends living in the community."
