Funeral Services Held Monday for Mrs. Carrie Amundson
Slater, Oct. 9--Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Mrs. Carrie Amundson, 71, of Radcliffe, at the Riis Funeral Home at 1 o'clock.
The services were in charge of Rev. J. Aahus of the Lincoln Lutheran church of Huxley, who gave a brief sermon. Many beautiful floral offerings and gifts of money to missions were given by relatives and friends.
Reve. and Mrs. Aarhus sang two duets, "God's Way Is the Best Way" and "Amazing Grace."
After the services, here the body was taken to Radcliffe where services were held at 3 o'clock at the Lutheran church. A large group of relatives and friends attended the services at Radcliffe.
Carrie Christopher was born near Slater April 18, 1876, and died at the home of her niece, Miss Lena Houge, in Salter, Friday, October 2, 1947. her parents were Nels adn Anna Christopher.
She was married to A. C. Amundson of Radcliffe. They had no children of their own but raised two foster children, Russell Amundson of Montana and Mrs. Emil Mortvedt of Radcliffe. They made their home at Radcliffe until the death of Mr. Amundson in 1942. Mrs. Amundson later became ill and was cared for at the Hubbard nursing home at Webster City. She was brought to the home of her niece in Slater over a year ago where she was devotedly cared for by her niece.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Julia Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Anna Engstrom of Oelwein also one brother, Arne Christopher of Sheldahl and a number of nieces and nephews.
Burial was made at Radcliffe.
