Last Rites For Frank H. Tett Thursday, May 20

Funeral services for Frank M. Tett, 56, of Zearing, who passed away in the Marshalltown hospital Monday, May 17 were held from the Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing Thursday afternoon May 20 with Rev. Father James D. M------- of Waverley and Rev. Carlyle Smith of the Christian church in Zearing assisting at the last rites.

The ------- --- ---- charge of Mrs. D---- ------- accompanied Mr. Mary Katherine Ufford ------ ------ , Neb. Miss Ufford sang "Someday We'll Understand," "The Old Rugged Cross," "------- ---- --- ---------- Prayer."

The flowers were arranged by Mrs. W. H. Brown and Mrs. Ingwald Madison.

Burial was in the Zearing cemetery. Pall bearers were P. R. Halleland and Carl Holder, Nevada, William Young and W. H. Brown of Zearing, Harland Tjelmeland of McCallsburg and Lowell Harris of Marshalltown.

Obituary

Frankie Merwin Tett was born southwest of Zearing on a farm September 1, 1891. When four years old he moved with his parents and family to the farm east of McCallsburg that is known as the F. J. Tett farm. He lived there with his parents until he was married to Mary Platt on February 18, 1913. They moved to the farm where he has lived until his death.

One son was born to this union Doyle M. Tett.

On March 4, 1936 Mr. Tett was united in marriage to Delight S. Ufford of Bridgeport, Nebraska.

Mr. Tett was a quiet unassuming man who stood for right always and tried to live the golden rule every day. When he gave his word it was as good as his signature on paper. He enjoyed life and enjoyed his work. He was never more happy than when he made a new customer and every customer became a steadfast friend. he was known for many miles around and will be greatly missed by a host of friends in the entire community he served.

He leaves his wife Delight Tett and son Doyle M. Tett, one grandson and two granddaughters to mourn his passing.

He also leaves to mourn one brother William T. Tett, and a sister Cleo B. Tett of McCallsburg, and nieces and nephews.

His father passed away January 7, 1948 and his brother Charlie on March 8, 1948.

Among those in attendance at the funeral from a distance were C. C. Ufford from Hermiston, Ore., Mrs. B. L. Ufford, Bridgeport, Neb., Miss Mary Katherine Ufford, Crete, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Weddell, Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Ray Walker, East Moline, Ill., Mrs. Ufford and Gladys, Des Moines and Mrs. C. Farlow from Woodward.
