Hold Final Services For Marion E. Good

Funeral services were held for Marion E. Good Monday afternoon, Oct. 25, at the Zearing Christian church with Rev. Carlyle Smith officiating with burial in the Zearing cemetery.

The hymns were sung by Eldon Crain, Max McBride, Dale Johnston and Bill Brown, Jr. Mrs. Delos Dakns was at the piano.

Mrs. Margaret Comfort and Mrs. Marjorie Reed took care of the many beautiful flowers.

Guy Clutterbuck, W. C. Young, Ray Keoppel, Brantley Jones, Claude Manning and Art Chandler served as pall bearers.

Obituary

Marion E. Good was born near Geraldstown, Tenn., on March 9, 1880, and passed away on Oct. 22, 1948, at the Woods hospital in State Center, after several months of illness.

He grew to manhood in Tennessee and on Dec. 9, 1903, he was married to Virgie L. Williams with seven children being born to them. He came to Iowa in 1910, and has farmed in various parts of the state and moved his family into the Zearing community in 1924, where he has lived since. The past year he was engaged as caretaker of the Zearing cemetery. He became a member of the Christian church in Zearing in 1926.

Survivors

Surviving are his wife; five sons, Hugh, Selmar, Sam and William, all of Zearing, and Paul of the state of Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Trula Wilson of Newton and Mrs. Beatrice Vanderpool of Indianola; twenty-two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. S. B. White of Runneals, and one brother, Ben Good of Pomona, Calif., and a host of relatives and friends.

Isom and Mrs. Margaret Patterson of Winfield, Mrs. Alice peters of Columbus Junction, Mr. and Mrs. Dascal Hamilton of Crawfordsville, Mr. and Mrs. Sargent and Mr. and Mrs. Ben White of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. White and sons Byron, Ralph, Ordie and Bob, and Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Williams, Shirley and Junior of Clarinda, Mr. and Mrs. George Collette and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clark of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Jenkins and Mack McDaniel of Newton and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crouse, Mrs. Norma Norris, Mrs. Darlene Demery, Mrs. Georgia Laurence and Mrs. Arlie Fisher of Indianola.
