Hold Final Rites For Mrs. M. A. Horsfall
Funeral services for Mrs. M. A. Horsfall were held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church with the pastor, Rev. James D. Ransom in charge.
The music was furnished by a ladies quartet, Mrs. Myron Jorstad, Mrs G. E. DuBois, Mrs. Guy Mills and Miss Catherine Craig who sang "Abide With Me" and "Have Thine Own Way." Miss Cleo Tett played the accompaniment on the piano.
Mrs. George Austad, Mrs. Earl Hanson and Mrs. Andy Thomps were in charge of the flowers. B. M. Bergland, A. J. Cook, Andy Thompson, Lloyd Ellingson, Alfred Mannes and George Auestad served as pall bearers.
Obituary
Mathilda Amanda, daughter of Daniel G. and Alphonsine J. Adams, was born at Whitewater Wisc. on April 20, 1866, one of a family of thirteen. In 1907 the family moved to Iowa Falls where she grew to womanhood.
In April of 1887 she was married to Louis L. Horsfall and to this union were born two children, John L. of New York City and Lulu C. (Mrs. F. E. Nail) of McCallsburg
After living in Iowa Falls for 43 years she lived in Oregon, Minneapolis, Des Moines and McCallsburg, where she came seven years ago to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Nail and family. After a very brief illness she passed away October 22 at the age of 82 years, six months and two days.
She was a member of the Baptist church and had been organist at the Iowa Falls Baptist church for seven years preceding her marriage.
Burial was in the McCallsburg cemetery.
Survivors
Surviving are the son and daughter, a sister, Mrs. T. J. Hale of Denver, Colo., three grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In attendance at the funeral from a distance beside the son from New York City were two nephews, Richard and Roger Hale, and their wives from Iowa Falls and a granddaughter, Mrs. Harve Rockwell and sons Don and Kenneth from Cedar Rapids.
