Hold Final Rites For Mrs. Ida B. Lacey

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida B. Lacey were held in the Bethel Evangelical U. B. church in Zearing on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 15, with the Rev. John Braetto in charge and the Rev. R. A. Dennart assisting.

Songs were rendered by Elden Crain, Gordon Lundy Dale Johnston and Glenn McBride. Mrs. R. A. Dennart was at the piano.

Robert Comfort, Chelsy Beach, Guy Clatterbuck, Sem Oaks, I. S. Madison and Clair Reed, Sr., were casket bearers

Obituary

Ida B. Barber, daughter of Frank and Mary Barber, was born on a farm north of Liscomb, Iowa, on May 11, 1879, and passed away at her home in Zearing on Jan. 12, 1949 at the age of 69 years, eight months and one day.

She moved to Illinois Grove with her parents, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Oliver J. Lacey, on February 27 1896 and to this union were born five children Mildred, Delos, Lester, Zelma and Marjorie.

Mrs. Lacey was a charter member of the Illinois Grove Friends church and was an active and prominent worker in church and community affairs. She was a faithful wife, loving mother and a good neighbor.. On Feb. 27, 1946, Mr. and Mrs. Lacey celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Her husband, Oliver, preceded her in death on July 13, 1946.

Survivors

Leaving to mourn her loss are her children, Mrs. Wallace Cox of Van Nuys, Calif., Delos F. Lacey of Illinois Grove, Lester J. Lacey of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Alfred Tharnes of Dunbar and Mrs. Clair Reed, Jr., of Zearing; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ed Collins of Ames; two brothers, Guy Barber of South Gate, Calif., and Ray Barber of Hubbard, and her aunt, Grace Brown, who made her home with her for the past several years. She also leaves to number of relatives and a host of friends.

Those from a distance attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Collins of Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Christensen of Arnolds Park, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ewalt of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Tharnes of Dunbar, Mrs. Wallace Cox of Van Nuys, Calif., and Lester Lacey of Los Angeles, California. Also friends from Dunbar and Albion.
