Peter Hulderson Rites Held Sunday At Huxley Church

HUXLEY -- Funeral services for Pete Oley Hulderson, who died at his home on July 21, were held at Fjeldberg Lutheran church Sunday afternoon, July 24, with Rev. M. Harold Rye officiating and Rev. O. C. Hellekson assisting.

The ladies trio, including Mrs. E. D. Hall, Mrs. M. H. Rye and Mrs. Charles Ferguson, sang two selections, "Lead Kindly Light" and "Abide With Me". Mrs. Hall sang "The Lord's Prayer" at the close of service. Mrs. Orland Fjelland presided at the organ.

All the children were home for the funeral. Pall bearers were Seward and Johnny Ness, Orville C. Johnson, Bill Donahue, Ole Storwick and Dwight Law.

Obituary

Peter Oley Hulderson was born Feb. 18, 1879, to Ole and Anne Hulderson o a farm near Alleman in Polk county. He passed away at 7:45 p. m. on July 21 at his farm home where he had lived his entire life. He was 70 years, five months and three days old.

He was baptized and confirmed and married in Fjeldberg church where he was a lifelong member. He was married April 12, 1904, to Carrie O. Birkestrand of Cambridge. To this union were born eight daughters and three sons; two sons died in infancy.

Surviving are his widow, a son, Mark J. of Houston, Texas; and daughters, Mrs. Viola Hughes, Minneapolis; Mrs. Annette Warden, Des Moines; Mrs. Emelia Thompson, Ankeny; Mrs. Carrie Antil, Huxley; Marie and Ona, Des Moines; Mrs. Ruth Oliver, Omaha, and Mrs. Dorothy Tomlinson, Cambridge; also Orville R. Birkestrand of Alleman, who made his home with the Huldersons.

Others surviving include 14 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. L. A. Larson, and two brothers, Tom, Portland, Ore., and Ole, Maxwell. One brother, Hulder, and one sister, Mrs. Martin (Belle) Helland, preceded him in death.

He will be remembered as a kind and devoted husband, father and friend. Blessed be his memory.
