Last Rites for Charlie Elmore Held on Monday

Funeral services for the late Charlie Elmore, 55, who had passed away in Mary Greeley hospital in Ames on Friday evening, was held from the Ryan Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2 p. m. with the Rev. C. E. Lookingbill officiating.

Organ music was played at the opening and the close of the service.

The large number of floral tributes and the large number of friends in attendance were evidence of esteem and respect felt for the deceased who was known and highly respected for his honesty and integrity.

Casket bearers were R. I. Callison, C. D. Grierson, Joe Harsany, M. McLaughlin, James Sowers and Irwin Stoeffler.

Burial was made by the side of his mother in the Iowa Center cemetery.

Obituary

Charlie Elmore, son of John and Hester Elmore, was born in Story county, April 28, 1894. He departed this life at 9:45 Friday after an illness of four weeks which he bore very patiently, his age at death being 55 years, six months and 20 days.

Charlie grew to manhood in Nevada. He was honest, and it worried him until his last debt was paid. Ge was preceded in death by his parents and by one sister, Lotta at the age of 13 years.

He leaves to mourn his departure, a number of uncles and aunts, cousins and a host of friends.

Charlie when a boy and after he grew to manhood was especially devoted to his mother, a trait which endeared him to his many friends.
