Death of Story City Lady
Mrs. Malinda Kaltwedt of Story City, died on Saturday, March 2, 1912 at the home of her sister, Mrs. N. L. Svendsen, after several months illness. The deceased was born in Saude, Ryfylke, Norway, in 1848 and was 64 years of age at the time of her death. She came to this country in 1871, coming to Roland, where she was later united in marriage to Sven Kaltwedt and lived on a farm northwest of here. Her husband died about 26 years ago. She leaves one son, Martin Edwinson and two sisters, Mrs. Paul Holland and Mrs. Lars Svendsen of Story City. The funeral was held on Tuesday, March 5th from St. Petri church at Story City, Rev. O. P. Vangsnes preaching the funeral sermon, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Story City cemetery. Among those from here in attendance at the funeral were L. B. Larson, O. J. Jacobson, P. O. Teig, E. M. Rod, T. J. Jacobson and M. O. Rod.
