Last Rites Held For John Raimer

Funeral services were held for John Raimer, 79, of Forest City at the Morfoot-Dixon Funeral home on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00. The Rev. F. A. Smith was in charge. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Mr. Raimer had died suddenly Sunday Monday following a heart attack; he had been ill and confined to his home for some time.

Pall bearers were Paul Hakes, Eldon Stratton, Earl Robinson, Loyd Jensen, Leslie Knudson and Clarence Ballard.

Mrs. Richard Benson was organist and Mrs. Kenneth Rapp was soloist, singing "When the Ross Is Called up Yonder."

Obituary

John Raimer was born March 25, 1871, near Maxwell, Iowa, the son of George and Jane Raimer. He had four brothers William, George, Frank and Edward and four sisters, Katherine, Jane, Amanda and Mary. His parents and all his brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Raimer spent his early life in Story County, where he met an married Blanche Ballard on Oct. 20, 1898. To this union were born four children, Carl, Neva, Dorothy and Emmett, who died in August, 1928, at the age of 21.

Those surviving Mr. Raimer are his wife, three children, Carl of Austin, Minn., Mrs. Neva Smith of Forest City and Mrs. Dorothy Paulson of Rockwell City, sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. W. W. Hennik, 919 Second street, is a sister-in-law of Mr. Raimer.
