THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, January 1, 1903, page 6, column 3. "Sheldahl - A sad shock came to this community __ when it was learned that Charles Alliman, a much respected citizen, was dead. Charles was a young man of twenty-seven and was prosperous in business. His health was apparently good until about 6 weeks ago when he was taken ill, and in order that he might have the very best of treatment he was taken to a hospital in Des Moines, where it was hoped that he might improve, but to no avail, as it was destined that he should not survive. He leaves a wife and two small children to mourn their loss. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in this their time of great sorrow."
