SUDDEN DEATH OF LEWIS HELLAND

FORMER STORY COUNTY MAN DIED AT HOME AT FOREST CITY

Roland, May 20--Lewis Helland, 77, longtime resident of this community, died very suddenly at his home at Forest City Saturday night, being found dead in the bath room at his home.

Funeral services will be held at Bergen church, Roland, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 by his former pastor Rev. Sumstadt, after which the body will be laid to rest in the Roland cemetery, by the side of the wife who passed away five months ago.

Mr. Helland was a native of Norway but came to America as a boy and the family home was until 11 years ago on a farm southeast of here. From there he moved to near Forest City.

Three of the fourteen children born to Mr. and Mrs. Helland died in infancy and one son died about ten months ago. Those surviving are Peter of Scarville, Iowa, Mrs. J. T. Sampson of Roland, Mrs. Peter Hanson of Forest City, Arthur of Forest City, Earnest at home, Mrs. J. W. Peterson of 1319 Fifth street, Nevada; Mrs. Frank Kulow of Algona; Mrs. George Huntrod of Compton, Calif.; Leonard of Los Angeles; Allan of Whittier, Calif.; and Mrs. Max Havgardner of Casper, Wyoming.
