ELDERLY WOMAN PASSES BEYOND

Former Slater Resident Dies at Home of Daughter at Roland Sunday Morning from Old Age. Funeral Yesterday.

Mrs. Carrie Ryan passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lena Michaelson last Sunday morning from the infirmities of old age. Funeral services were held from the Michaelson home at 10:30 yesterday forenoon, and from Lincoln Lutheran church at two o'clock in the afternoon, after which interment took place in the Slater cemetery. Rev. Edward Duea had charge of the services.

Carrie Brolum was born in Olen, Norway, Europe, December 17, 1839, and grew to womanhood in that community. In 1859, she was married to Nels Ryan and together with their fkmily emigrated to the United States in 1870, making their home in Livingstone County, Illinois until 1892, when they moved to Slater. Mr. Ryan passed away twenty years ago, and for the past few years Mrs. Ryan has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Michaelson at Roland.

The deceased passed away on Sunday morning, April 30, 1922, and was 82 years, 4 months and 13 days old. She was the mother of eleven children, four of whom have preceded her to the Great Beyond. The children living, and all of whom were present at the funeral are Mrs. Ole B. Andersson, Roland; Tom Ryan, Ellendale, Minn.; Mrs. Chas. Thompson, Roland; Mrs. Ed Ryg, Slater; Mrs: Lena Michaelson, Roland; Erick Ryan, Slater, Mrs. Geo. Christianson, Slater. She also leaves thirty-one grandchildren and fourteen greatgrandchildren.

Thus another noble Christian woman has quietly passed away, leaving her dear ones only the sweet memories of one who loved and ministered unto her loved ones. The world is better for her having lived in it, and the many friends will long remember her for her kind deeds and street Christian character.
