MRS. MARTIN (LOUISA) SWENSON

Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa Swenson were held Monday, Feb. 18 at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, with Pastor Orville D. Sanderson officiating. Chaplain Enoch R. Hall brought a greeting in behalf of Bethany Manor. He also officiating at the 10 a.m. service at Bethany Manor. Louise Olson was organist and Lavon Peterson, soloist.

Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. Pall bearers were Merlin Anderson, Carroll Anderson, Orlin Anderson, Earl Swenson, Reuben Swenson and Millard Jacobson.

Mrs. Martin (Louisa) Swenson was born Oct. 30, 1883 in Hamilton County, Iowa to parents Andrew S. and Jennie Soren Anderson. She was united in marriage to Martin Swenson in 1905. They farmed in the Ellsworth area until 1930, when they retired and moved to Story City.

They became member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a member of ALCW and the Quilters. She entered Story City Bethany Manor in 1976, where she passed away Friday morning, Feb. 15 at the age of 97.

Mrs. Swenson was preceded in death by her husband in 1964, also her parents, four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by three daughters Jeanette Swenson of Story City, Mildred Hill of Ellsworth and Betty Kieser of Bellvue, Neb., four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, also one brother Arthur Anderson of Story City, and many nieces and nephews.
