Mrs. John Borwick Of Roland Died Sunday Morning
Roland, Jan. 13: Mrs. John Borwick passed away suddenly at 10:30 Sunday morning at her home in Roland from a heart attack. She had been in poor health for some time.
Karen Serena Borwick, daughter of the late, Martin and Anna Teigland, was born on a farm near Kelley, Nov. 29, 1884. She moved with her parents west of Randall where she was married Jan. 25, 1911 to John Borwick.
They lived on a farm six miles north of Roland, but moved into Roland six years ago.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Magnus Olson of Story City and Charlette of Roland and five sons, Arthur of Dysart, Roy attending Iowa State Teacher college, Jeffrey, Harold and Marion of Roland. She also leaves six grandchildren and her step mother, Mrs. Martin Teigland of Ames.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Pete Oakland of Algona, Mrs. John Oakland and Mrs. James Quam of Story City, ad Mrs. T. F. Britton of Oklahoma City, and four brothers, Lucas of Cedar Falls, Martin of Des Moines, Soren and George of Randall.
Funeral services will be held in Roland Wednesday, at 1:30 from the home and 2 p. m. at Bergen church with Rev. Allen Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Roland.
