Osmund Rasmusson Hia died at his home northeast of Story City on Tuesday, July 26, at the age of 85 years. He was a brother of Rasmus Rasmusson of this place. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the North St. Petri church.

OBITUARY
Osmund Rasmussen was born near Stavanger, Norway, September 19, 1835, and died on his farm east of Randall, on July 26, 1921, being at the time of his death, 85 years, 10 months and 6 days of age.
He came to Grundy Center, Ill., in 1865 where he lived four years then moved to Story county, Iowa where he resided until 1873. He then moved to Scott township, where he remained until his death.
On July 5, 1868, he was united in marriage to Miss Julia Edwinson. To this union eleven children were born, all of whome are living and were present at the funeral. They are: Rasmus Rasmussen, Story City; Elias Rasmussen, Alden; Edwin Rasmussen, Sioux Falls, S. D.; Martin Rasmussen, Sioux Falls, S. D.; Louis Rasmussen, Story City; Mrs. Martin Varland, Newell, S. D.; Mrs. Chas. Sandness, West Concord, Minn.; Mrs. G. C. Anderson, Alden, Miss.; Mrs. Theo. Braland, Alden, Minn.; and Mrs. Roy Romp, of Jewell. Besides his wife and children he leaves 38 grandchildren, 1 brother and 3 sisters, and a number of relatives to mourn his loss.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon , at East St. Petri church, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud conducting the services. The body was laid to rest in the cemetery east of Randall.
Transcriber note: He was buried in Mamrelund Cemetery, Hamilton County, Iowa. His marker surname is Rasmusson. It is unclear which spelling was used. Most Norwegians in Story County used -son.
