WILBUR HOWARD SARSFIELD

Wilbur Howard Sarsfield, 97, of Nevada, died Friday, Dec. 19. 1980 at Story County Hospital, Nevada.

He was born December 17, 1883 in Cass County, Iowa, the son of Andy and Mary Fudge Sarsfield. He attended the Marne, Ia. High School.

In 1906 he married Ruby Werner in Atlantic, Ia. He farmed southeast of Nevada and in 1952 retired to Des Moines for 15 years until the death of his wife, when he moved to Nevada in 1967.

He is survived by two sons, Harlan of Westchester, Ill. and Robert of Bethesda, Md.; one daughter, Eleanor McConnell of Nevada; one sister, Ada Goeke of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruby, in January 1964, and two brothers, Oscar and John.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 1980 at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with Dr. William Bass officiating. Burial followed in the Nevada Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
