Funeral at Garden City for Slain Marine

Special to the Journal.
Radcliffe, Oct. 16.--Funeral services were held at Garden City on Tuesday afternoon for the later Sergeant Sigur Fosse, who was shot by a robber at the Marine Recruiting station at Little Rock, Ark., and died Oct. 6. Dr. Arthur Rholl preached the funeral sermon at the Garden City church and the Radcliffe post of the American Legion had charge of the service at the cemetery. Sigur Fosse, the son of John and Tina Fosse was born at Ruthven, Iowa, January 10, 1899. For the past twelve years he had been in the United States Marine corps and at the time of his death was in charge of a recruiting station.

Surviving are his mother, two sister, Mrs. Orlo Galbreath and Sadie Fosse, four brothers, John, Otis, Alfred and Joseph Fosse, all of the Garden City and vicinity.
