MILFORD PIONEER WOMAN IS DEAD

Mrs. Anders Jorgenson, age 84 years, died at her home south of Roland on Thursday, March 3, and the funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at one o'clock, they being in charge of Dr. C. N. Swihart, pastor of Memorial Lutheran church of Nevada. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband who had died two years ago at the advance age of 92 years.

When but a child she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Norway and came to America when a girl of 16 years, settling first at Madison, Wis., where she was united in marriage to Anders Jorgenson on November 18, 1858. To this union ten children were born, eight of whom are alive to mourn the death of the parents. Those dead are Andrew, who was killed last fall and George who passed away in infancy. The sons and daughters that remain are as follows: Frank of Riverside, Cal., the one one unable to be present at the funeral, Mrs. L. C. Rierson of Nevada, Mrs. J. O. Michaelson of Ames, Mrs. H. O. Hansen of McCallsburg, Edgar of St. Cloud, Minn., Ida of Nevada, Mrs. O. N. Egeland of Roland and Oscar of Marathon, Iowa. There are 23 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Jorgenson was a good woman, a kind and loving wife and mother and a woman deeply devoted to her church. Giving her faith when but a child she remained steadfast in that faith to the very end.
