Services Here Wednesday For Mrs. Clyde Knudson

Funeral services for Mrs. Clyde Knudson, 621 Eighth street, were held from Memorial Lutheran church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. E. P. Windman officiating.

Leslie Henderson was at the organ. The many beautiful flowers which banked the front of the church, were arranged by Miss Bessie Hass, Mrs. Merrill Marshall and Mrs. Don Williams.

Casket bearers were Karl B. Cessna, Carl E. Stone, Milo Berka, Don Williams, Victor Kinney and John Donnelly.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Mrs. Clyde (Mildred Airy) Knudson, 61, died Aug. 12, 1957 in the Community Memorial Hospital, LaGrange, Ill., where she had been a patient for two months.

Mrs. Knudson was born Sept. 15, 1895, in Marshalltown, a daughter of Mrs. C. E. Airy, 729 Eighth street, Nevada, and the late Mr. Airy.

She grew up in Nevada, was graduated from the Nevada high school, and had attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls.

For several years she taught in the local schools, several of which were as principal of Central grade school. She later taught Bible classes in the city schools.

On June 24, 1924, she was united in marriage to Clyde Knudson of Nevada, who preceded her in death 1949.

Besides her mother, she is survived by two daughters (Kathryn), Mrs. Stuart Totty, La Grange, Ill., and (Janet), Mrs. Delbert Sinclair, Sycamore, Ill.; by her sisters, Mrs. G. A. Goodin, Muskogee, Okla., and Mrs. Frances Logsdon and Miss Alice Airy of the family home in Nevada. She also leaves three grandchildren.

Mrs. Knudson was a very active member of Memorial Lutheran church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and of the Nevada Women's club. Among local social clubs, she was a member of the S. E. Y. club of Nevada and of the M. F. O. club of Colo, where she had lived for number of years.

Among those from out of town here for the services were Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Totty of La Grange, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Dell Sinclair, Sycamore, Ill., Mrs. Nina Goodin, Muskogee, Okla., Mrs. Athen Mendenhall, Houston, Tex., Mrs. Lester Martin, Oak Park, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Warren G. White of Ames, Miss Zella White and others from Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Donnelley, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon McKinney, Mr. and Mrs. Victor McKinney, Miss Gladys McKinney, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Granger, Mrs. Vern Weir, Mrs. Ray Weir, and Mrs. Richard Wilson, all of Colo, Mrs. Tom Dickens of Des Moines.
