Death of Former Resident

Knut T. Hovland, a former resident of Roland, passed away at his home in Seattle, Wash., on Monday, July 12, after a lingering illness.

Mr. Hovland was born in Norway on September 2, 1839, being at the time of his death 81 years old. He was united in marriage on July 16, 1870, to Anna Hovland, who died the 22nd of May, 1918. They emigrated to this country in 1882, residing one year at Gardner, Ill., and then coming to Roland where the lived for twenty-five years. In 1908 they moved to Seattle.

Funeral services were held on July 14 from the First Lutheran church, Rev. B. E. Bergeson officiating.

He is survived by six children, who were all at his bedside at the time of his death. They are T. K., Brit and Rasmus Hovland, Miss Julia Hovland, Mrs. L. T. Nybro, Mrs. R. P. Walker.
