From Story City News, Story City, Story County, Iowa, Friday, October 14th, 1887.

DIED. - Lars Olson (Donhaug) died at his residence near Gilbert station last Monday, Oct. 10th. Mr. Olson had been sick for about a year and waited patiently for the time when his sufferings should come to an end. He was well and favorably known in this vicinity and all will sympathize with his family in their great sorrow and bereavement.

(In the same paper under GILBERT NEWS: Mr. L. D. Olson who has been sick for a long time, died last Monday noon Oct. 10th.)

Transcriber note: Lars D. Olson is buried in the South St. Petri Cemetery. His marker in Norwegian reads "died on 10 Oct 1887 at the age of 58 years and 5 months."
