PASSING OF PIONEER

Mrs. Lou Sawyer Had Lived In County 64 Rears.

Gilbert, Feb. 18--Mrs. Lou Briley Sawyer died at her home in Gilbert on Tuesday, February 10 at 10 p. m. Mrs. Sawyer had been quite ill since February 1. Mr. Sawyer died about 15 years ago and her granddaughter Awanda Mathison, has made her home with her. Mrs. Sawyer leaves three sisters and four brothers: Mrs. E. Ward, Mrs. Jas. Johnson, Mr. S. Manges, H. E. Briley, Otho Briley, Geo. Briley and N. Briley, all living in Story county. Her children are Delno Sawyer and Earl Sawyer of Arropoho, Colo., James Sawyer of Jewell, Otho Sawyer, Mrs. Robt. Tressler, Mrs. Roy Templeton, Mrs. Fred Davis, Mrs. Alfred Mosgrove, Mrs. Clark Scott and Mrs. Amiel Mathison.

Mrs. Sawyer was born and raised and spent all her life in Story county. She was much loved by her children and all who knew her. She had her share of hardship in life, but always met the world with smile an received one in return. Her cheerful attitude toward life made her welcome everywhere. She was a member of the church, the missionary society, the civic club, and took and active pat in all social affairs in the community.
