Mrs. Floyd C. Zenor

Vita May Freed, daughter of Schuyler and Cambia Freed, was born August 17, 1887, at Vaparaiso, Indiana, and moved to Story county, Iowa, near Ontario, with her parents in 1892 and this community has been her home. At the age of fourteen she united with the Ontario Christian church during the pastorate of Rev. J. R. Johnson, in which church she held her membership till the time of her departure for the better world. During all these years she was an active member of the church till ill health interfered with her church activities. She graduated from the Ames High School in June 1907, later spending a year teaching in her home school, which she attended in childhood. "Vita," as she is known by her numerous friend, was united in marriage to Floyd C. Zenor, December 21, 1910. She departed this life January 16, 1915 at the age of twenty seven years, four months and twenty-nine days. She has suffered from nephrites, commonly termed Brights Disease, which was the cause of her removal from the family circle and the many friends, who mourn her absence. She is survived by her husband, father, mother, two brothers, Dr. Oscar F. Freed of Huxley, Iowa, Paul L. Freed of Armstrong and his sister Neva Freed Morris of Ames. During her illness she received all the medical care, and ministration that her loved ones could offer to relieve her suffering and if possible restore her health.

Mrs. Zenor was a good Christian woman, kind and affectionate in the family circle, loved and respected by her numerous friends. The weary wheels of life have cease to move, she rests from her labors. Happy be her lot. Sweet be her rest!

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Ontario Christian church, conducted by Rev. Charles Wheeler of Des Moines. The singers were, Miss Mattie Cobb, Mrs. Alma Ward, Mr. A. E. Ross and Arthur Engstrom. The pianist was Miss Ada Scott. The pallbearers were A. J. Bailey, Ed Rex, Mr. J. Boyd, Cliff Johnson, George Truesdell and Gay Ward. Interment was made at the Ontario cemetery.
