Doyle Wayne McCarl
February 5, 1968 - December 2, 2019

Doyle Wayne McCarl, 51, of Roland died December 2, 2019 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be Friday December 6 at 10:30 at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial will follow in the Roland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland.

Doyle was born on February 5, 1968 in Iowa City to Mitchell and Karen (Guthrie) McCarl. He married Julie Childers on October 12, 1991. Doyle worked as a plant operator and lineman for Story City Municipal Electric. He enjoyed camping, building projects, working with his tools, remodeling the house, being a jokester but his greatest pleasure were his grandchildren.

Doyle is survived by his wife Julie McCarl; his children, Anthony (Rachel) Wright, Jenna Friedmeyer, Amanda (Kane) Starrett and Kimberly (Cody) McCarl; 12 grandchildren, Mikayla, Alexey, Victoria, William, Emilee, Stephen, Alexis, Aubrey, Ayva, Aliah, Kayden and Melody; his father, Mitchell (Beatrice) McCarl; his siblings, Cindy McCarl, Crystal McCarl, Kelly (Mark) Moberly, Autumn (Matt) Parmer, Mitchell (Donna) McCarl, Jr., Alyssum Jones and Lorena Conner; several aunts and uncles and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Karen; a granddaughter, Kellan Starrett; a step-sister, Angela Pereira and his grandparents.
