Frank Hicks, Colo Pioneer, Died Here Early Today
Colo, May 24--Frank Hicks, 78, well known Colo resident passed away at the Iowa sanitarium at 6 a. m. this morning where he was registered last evening after suffering a second stroke while working around the filling station near his home.
Those with him at the time he was stricken gave him immediate attention, a doctor summoned from Nevada and he was brought over to the Iowa sanitarium.
He had suffered a light stroke earlier Tuesday from which he rallied.
Funeral services await word from relatives in Chicago and Ottawa, Ill., but will probably be held on Friday. Burial will be in the Colo cemetery where his, parents, who passed away several years ago and his brother William, who died Nov. 4, 1933, are buried.
Mr. Hickes was born Sept. 8, 1862 and had been a resident of Colo community for 62 years. While he was engaged in farming as an occupation he majored in livestock, horses, cattle and hogs. He lived a conscientious and upright life.
He is survived by his only sister, Miss Ella Hicks, with whom he lived.
