Funeral Services for Frank Bobo Tuesday Afternoon

Funeral services for Frank Bobo, 70, who died at the University hospital Saturday, October 9 will be held at the Memorial Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 with his pastor Dr. J. O. Simon in charge. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.

The following brief sketch will be read at the service by Dr. Simon.

Frank Benjamin Bobo was born near Tipton, Cedar county, Iowa, Oct. 15, 1867. He was a twin brother of Geo. W. Bobo, who passed away in California last June. Frank Bobo passed away at the University hospital in Iowa City, Saturday, Oct. 9th at 8:30 a. m. At time of his death he had reached the age of 69 years, 11 months, 24 days. The family removed to Story county, Iowa, in 1871 and settled in Nevada. Mr. Bobo has lived here since a child 4 years old.

Mr. Bobo was united in marriage to Jessie Conn on Sept. 26, 1906. On Easter day 1907 this newly married couple united with Memorial Lutheran church. Mr. Bobo remained in full communion with his church during his entire life, serving his church as a member of the church council for a period of six years. He was a member of the council at the time the new church was built and dedicated.

There were born to this union 3 children, 2 daughters and one son. The daughters are Mrs. Agnes Chamberlain of Collins, Ia., and Margaret Elona Bobo at home with her mother. The son John H. Bobo, is in the United States navy. He is on the flagship U. S. S. California, and is stationed at San Pedro, Calif. Mr. Bobo is survived by his wife Mrs. Jessie Bobo, and the 3 children just mentioned. Mrs. Lou Waltz living south of Colo is a cousin of Mr. Bobo.*

Mr. Bobo was also a member of the Woodmen of the World.

Frank Bobo was a man who gave thought to the better things of life than many realized. He lived a quiet, unpretentious life, never loud or boastful, but meek and submissive. He was truly a Child of the King. Despite his infirmities and gradual increasing weakness he was trustful and patient until until finally he was relieved by death.

Many neighbors and friends extend their sympathy to Mrs. Bobo and the children and feel a keen sorrow in learning of his death.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. Lou (Louis) Waltz" was Nancy Ellen Murray. She was the daughter of Henry Murray and Paulina Sarah Dunahoo. Franklin Benjamin Bobo was the son of Thomas Francis Bobo and Agnes Murray. Henry Murray and Agnes Murray Bobo, Frank's mother, were brother and sister. Therefore Nancy (Murray) Waltz and Frank Bobo were cousins.
