Betty Jean Perisho, 93, of Zearing, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the Zearing Health Care Center. A funeral mass will be held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Zearing on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Rick Dagit officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing.
Betty was born on May 2, 1926 in rural Zearing to Frank and Marie (Donner) Walters. She attended Zearing High School and graduated with the class of 1945. Following school, she married Elvin "Fat" Perisho and the couple moved to Des Moines. Betty began working at Lutheran Hospital and became the office manager. The couple raised their family together in Des Moines. After 25 years of working at Lutheran she retired and her and Fat moved to Zearing. Betty went back to school and earned her CNA certificate and began working at the nursing home in Zearing. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. Betty loved spending time with her family, most especially at Leech Lake in Walker, Minnesota. They spent summers there for many years. She also enjoyed fishing, working, and mowing.
Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children Larry (Etta) Perisho of Ankeny, IA, Shirley Salzman of Salem, OR, and Joan Milosevich of Woodward, IA; grandchildren Danielle Fox, Dillon Perisho, Sarah (John) Halverson, Lisa (Jay) Corner, and Brad (Brande) Milosevich; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jim Walters, sister-in-law Elena Walters, and son-in-law Robert Milosevich.
